Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWOLODYMYR SOROCZYNSKYJ 1910 - 2005 Peacefully, Wolodymyr passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 94. Wolodymyr was born June 11, 1910 in Bukovyna, Ukraine. He completed his studies at the University of Chernivshi, receiving a degree in law. Wolodymyr came to Canada in 1948 with his mother and sister. He met his future wife Zwenyslawa at English classes and they were married at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church on July 15, 1950. Wolodymyr was employed by the City of Winnipeg - Parks and Recreation Department. He was a member of the Ukrainian National Federation; Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral and other organizations. He was a kind and gentle man, who was very devoted to his wife of 49 years. Wolodymyr was a man of prayer, living his life with a strong faith in God. Throughout the years, he maintained a strong love of his homeland and was a generous donor to many organizations. Wolodymyr had a great pride of his Ukrainian heritage. He enjoyed reading, the outdoors and had a great sense of humour. His commitment to the Ukrainian community in Canada is reflected by his faith in the Shevchenko Foundation, to which he entrusted his final wishes and arrangements. Special appreciation is extended to the caring staff of Holy Family Nursing Home. Wolodymyr was predeceased by his wife, Zwenyslawa (December 26, 1999); his sister Maria Wolczynski and brother Mykola Soroczynskyj. Left to cherish his memory are his brother Phil Soroczynskyj, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 8 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Rev.
